The first hour is focused on our breathing.
Correct use of breath, is vitally important and is related to everything else. To take a deep breath means not only expand the rib cage sideways and up but more importantly - down into the diaphragm, under your belt line and even beyond into your pelvis.
The breath session is focused on freeing and mobilising the ribs.
Exploring breathing patterns and using the breath to promote ease and release holdings in the ribs, lungs and respiratory diaphragm is vitally important. Breathing must be done without tension, must be constant and rhythmical.
When you hold your breath, you build certain tension in your body to which a horse will react. How would you feel if your horse hold his breath? Frightened! And that is the way he feels if you hold yours. You can breath a horse to quietness, it will give him confidence.
Take care of ourselves is one of our most important responsibilities.
